About the Project

I was producer, filmer, and editor of a 10-episode podcast series that was about the most talented, unknown artists using the internet to make it big. We brought on guests at all stages in their music career and had in-depth conversations about their journeys. As the one-man-band for this production, I would generate questions for the show, and played a producer role during game segments. The podcast was a 3-camera set-up, shot by me, and was then edited into 60-minute long-form videos with color grading and graphics. My guiding principle for the podcast was, "How can we make a podcast visually beautiful?" The medium itself is often audio focused and visually dull. So how could we flip the format on its head and bring interest back into the video? From our set design to our game segments, to our "punishments" at the end of each episode, it was a visuals-first approach for a podcast.
I also ran the clips page for this podcast, creating 75 short form videos that promoted the podcast in digestible segments, with captions and added graphics.
We ended season 1 of the podcast after 10 successful weeks of filming.
