About the Project
While learning the basics of After Effects, I was inspired by Answer in Progress’ videos, how dark mode killed good design + how this Japanese doll broke the toy industry and decided to recreate the graphics seen in that video on my own. With no other resources other than their YouTube video, I mimicked the design and motion of several of these compositions. Many of the illustrations were designed in-app, while some were borrowed assets from online.
The project taught me about the meticulous keyframes that are made in a seemingly simple graphic. While time consuming, these visuals can be incredibly powerful to help the audience understand complex concepts.
