About the Project
I found a postcard that was never mailed. So I traveled across Europe to hand deliver it.
Entirely shot and edited by me, it was enlightening to film a video that I couldn’t control the outcome. I was going out into the world, documenting my experience, and letting it play out in real time. The video’s unscripted narrative allows it to take beautiful detours which is where the heart of the video lies.
My filming blended iPhone footage with more intentional DLSR shots. I believe audiences are looking for both; to watch something that is both cinematic but also relatable and real.
My favorite editing decision I made was to use film scores for the soundtrack. While piecing the video together, the narrative felt more filmic than any of my other projects. Letting the music of talented composers be the backdrop of my film really tied the visuals together.
